About Us

About Me

I am an accomplished artist and printmaker with a passion for capturing the beauty of both wild and orchestrated landscapes. My work is deeply inspired by the changing light of the seasons, whether I am painting the serene gardens of Chelsea Physic Garden, the enchanting David Austin Rose gardens, or the vibrant blossoms of Japan. My creative process often begins in the open air, where I can fully immerse myself in nature’s life force, translating that energy into animated brushstrokes. In the calm of my print studio, I explore evocative and expressive color combinations, either following a predetermined design or embracing the unknown as I solve visual challenges in real time.

As an associate member of The Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, I am also actively involved in the broader art community. I serve as a Director and Committee Member of The Printmakers' Council and am a Trustee of The Bristol Print Museum Project. My career has been enriched by strong connections with artist groups both in the UK and abroad. I have been a participant in France's prestigious Manifestampe ‘Fête de l’estampe’ festival since 2018 and collaborated with Art-Contact Russia-UK from 1992 to 2002.

Education & Professional Background

My formal art education includes a Master’s degree in Fine Art from Wimbledon School of Art and an Honors degree in Fine Art from Kingston School of Art. I further specialized in printmaking through postgraduate diplomas from Central School of Art and Brighton College of Art, and I have taught and lectured in art at institutions such as the University of Leicester.

I also conducted research at The Slade School of Fine Art, where I served as a Research Assistant in the Postgraduate Printmaking Department, allowing me to refine my craft and contribute to the academic side of the arts.

I have had the honor of showcasing my work in numerous solo exhibitions, including:

My work is part of 14 international museum collections, including the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London. Over the years, I have received numerous awards, including the Towner Art Gallery Drawing Prize and the Stowells Trophy from the Royal Academy.

Artist’s Statement

My artistic journey is one of exploration and expression. Whether I am capturing the delicate beauty of a rose garden or the raw, untamed spirit of a wild nature reserve, my goal is to convey the life force of nature through my art. I use a combination of open-air painting to channel immediate impressions and studio-based printmaking to dive deeper into color and form. Each piece I create is a testament to my love for the natural world and my commitment to pushing the boundaries of printmaking and painting.
